The Adult Choir of Grace Church was originally a choir of men and boys, and is now a mixed ensemble of men and women who love to contribute to the song of this congregation. The core of the repertory reflects the Anglican and English Cathedral heritage of the Episcopal Church. However, on any given Sunday, you might also hear jazz, a Bach Cantata, spirituals, music from the early American Sacred Harp tradition, music from the Taizé community, or authentic Gospel strains. The choral program strives to reflect the parish's multi-cultural membership with a wide stylistic variety of repertoire.
The adult choir generally sings two anthems during the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist most Sundays during the program year. We also undertake larger choral works in support of special liturgies of the year, such All Saints, Holy Week, and Eastertide.
ALL are welcome to be a part of this ministry anytime of the year. If you would like to know more, leave a message for Kipp Cortez, interim parish musician, at (708) 386-8036, or just come to a rehearsal!
